Main Office
A Hope Center Pregnancy & Relationship Resources
Formally known as the Fort Wayne Crisis Pregnancy Center, the ministry name was changed in 2000 to reflect a positive image to potential clients. In operation since 1985, A Hope Center first opened its doors in a little office on W. Wayne Sreet. The following year, the ministry moved to a larger location on N. Anthony Boulevard at Lake Ave. Time there lasted until 1991 when A Hope Center moved to 3030 Lake Avenue in the Medical Dental building. Some 17 years later, on January 2, 2008, a new main office was opened in a beautifully renovated facility at 3630 Hobson Road.

Catering to women and men experiencing unplanned pregnancy, our services are geared to provide hope, help, and healing in difficult circumstances. We have expanded to include nurse-administered pregnancy testing and limited-ultrasound medical services under the direction of a local practicing OB-GYN physician. All sevices are free to the community and the ministry is completely funded by individuals, churches, and foundations who value the sanctity of human life.

We have opened our doors to new areas of the city in order to serve people where they live. People of all races, nationalities, religions, and economic class are welcome and eligible for services. (Non-English speaking clients are asked to bring a translator to their appointment.) It is our policy to demonstrate the utmost love and respect for clients, especially in matters of personal faith and life choices.

David L Misner
Executive Director, David L. Misner

Born and raised in Hammond, Indiana, David received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Ministries from Lincoln Christian College, Lincoln, Illinois, in 1977 and his Master of Arts Degree from Lincoln Christian Seminary in 1980.  He has also completed studies in Clinical Pastoral Education at Lutheran Hospital.

As an ordained minister, David has held ministry positions in Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana, including Associate Minister, Senior Minister, and Minister of Discipleship and Involvement.  He has most recently worked with Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Homes in Fort Wayne and as a Corporate Chaplain for Gordon Food Services and Coventry Commons through Marketplace Chaplains USA.

Possessing a wide variety of experience and skills in the areas of administration, finance, and communication, David brings a heart and passion for the ministry of A Hope Center and is committed to carrying forward the strong Christian values implanted by Judi Hapke, adopted by the staff, and supported by the Board of Directors.  He possesses the ability to build trust through demonstrating principled leadership, sound business ethics, and personal integrity, with a Christ-like spirit, which are important qualities for organizations such as A Hope Center.  One of the things David appreciates most about working with not-for-profit organizations is their high priority for meeting the needs of those who come to them for assistance.

Davidís community involvement has included the Allen County National Day of Prayer Steering Committee (Chairman, 2006-2009), Fort Wayne Area Christian Churches/Churches of Christ Ministerial Association (Chairman, 2001-2003), Youth for Christ, A Hope Center, and various areas of service in the East Allen County School Corporation.

In his spare time, David enjoys sports of all kinds and is an avid softball player.  His quieter activities include gardening and taking long walks with his wife.

He and his wife, Donna, have been married for 32 years and are active members of Christís Church at Georgetown.  The Misners have lived in Fort Wayne for the past 15 years and are the parents of two grown sons, Ryan and Andy.

New Facilities
On January 2, 2008, we opened a new main office in a beautifully renovated building located at 3630 Hobson Road. Occupancy of this prime location was made possible through the generosity of a private foundation that purchased the property in order to provide A Hope Center with an ideal location and excellent facility. Because of this gift, the quality of our care and the quantity of clients being served may be maximized to a level that we have not yet dreamed possible. With over 5000 square feet and an interior designed specifically for the needs of pregnancy care center ministry, the new main office blesses our community by being more visible an available to the attention of hurting people.
Please feel free to celebrate with us by stopping by one of our centers to see for yourself what great things God has done!
